Divisi Utama Wrap

Persikabo maintained their 100 % start to the season with a narrow 1-0 win over PS Bengkulu at the Persikabo Stadium in Cibinong yesterday. Nunandi scored the only goal of the game about 10 minutes from the end with just 6,438 fans looking on.

Persiku traveled along the Pantura to play Persp and returned home with a point from a 1-1 draw in front of 8,269 fans. The home team took the lead in the first half through Nurcoyo but Persiku's Gakou Amadou equalised mid way through the second half.

Villa 2000's tough baptism in Divisi Utama continued. They were beaten 1-0 by PS Bangka, leaving them earching for their first win of the season while Bangka made three wins in three and are comfortably placed just behind Persikabo at the top of the group.

PSIM needed an injury time winner from Supri Andrianto to take three points from group leaders PSBI Blitar. Tri Hindoko had given them an early lead but PSBI made it a worrying end for the home team before that late, late goal.

Persis earned a point from their trip to the north coast of central Java after they drew 1-1 with PSIR Rembang. Juan Marcello Cirelli had given Persis the lead on half time but Bissa Donal scored from the spot for the home side on the hour mark.

Meanwhile, up in Medan, Pro Duta defeated newly promoted PS Kwarta 3-1 at Teladen Stadium. Iksan Lubis had the affront to give the visitors the lead but Pro Duta fought back and hit three goals in a 17 minute spell to win the game and earn the points. Syamir scored twice with Rachmad Hidayat hitting the other.

With seven of the other eight teams in the group playing in eaither Central or East Java, there is perhaps little surprise that Perseman, from Papua seem to have taken the financially friendly option of switching their home games to Madiun. And it doesnt seem to have done them much harm as they brushed past PSS 2-1 with John Pattikawa hitting the winner just three minutes from the home.

It's funny how often home teams manage to earn the points right at the death, isn't it?!
